It doesn't matter how many pretty landscapes are created, every so often somebody will create another pretty landscape masterpiece. Sometimes it will be a quilter!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1210759514036256082.post-41842196711157930292010-11-26T13:33:29.948-08:002010-11-26T13:33:29.948-08:00You are so right. Too often, I think we as quilt artists get caught up in how clever we are with fabric manipulation that we don't realize we've missed the basic art principles boat. I hear too many excuses about how we're misunderstood, or we are not hanging our work properly, when really, the way to get taken seriously as artists is to produce excellent work (with the properties you've so eloquently laid out).Kristin Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05955546754675680404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1210759514036256082.post-45132109265296698882010-11-26T12:35:48.650-08:002010-11-26T12:35:48.650-08:00Well said, Elizabeth!Well said, Elizabeth!Karen Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07589381487144096056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1210759514036256082.post-29327077514933573612010-11-26T09:27:36.751-08:002010-11-26T09:27:36.751-08:00Thanks so much for a little good sense and clarity...Thanks so much for a little good sense and clarity about this subject. The representational vs. abstract discussion has become absurd! You nailed it with the obvious, but apparently not so obvious to a lot of folks--it's all about how good the work is, not what it is.Terry Granthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16650965451863656517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1210759514036256082.post-5976045271778256632010-11-26T08:16:16.987-08:002010-11-26T08:16:16.987-08:00Thank you for this excellent post.
